It’s 55 years since the Stonewall Riots, a moment in history which changed LGBTQ+ culture. Back in 1969 members of the New York community gathered outside the Stonewall Inn and fought for their right to exist, sparking a global movement which affects us all today.

To commemorate this anniversary, we invite you to gather to remember the past, celebrate the present and call for positive change for the future. We want to proudly express who we are and show Sunderland how pride we are as we come together as one community, celebrating all genders, identities, faiths, backgrounds and cultures.

We’ll have music playing from 11am at Park Lane and the march will start at 12pm as we make our way to Sunniside Gardens. And the theme this year? Be bright, be colourful, be your true authentic self. Everyone is welcome, whether you identify in the LGBTQ+ community or are one of our many brilliant allies.

So, join us and be loud, be proud and let’s celebrate Pride in Sunderland.

It’s an easy route and very accessible.
