Gateshead LGBTphobia Survey

Have Your Say on LGBTPhobia in Gateshead

Following our regional LGBTPhobia survey, we are now focusing on Gateshead as a pilot project to explore how best to report hate crimes related to sexual orientation and gender identity.

This local approach will help us understand the unique challenges faced in Gateshead and develop better, more accessible ways to report and respond to LGBTPhobia.

We’ve teamed up with Gateshead VCSE to tackle LGBTPhobia in our community — but we need your voice to make a difference.

Whether you’ve witnessed or experienced discrimination, or simply care about creating a safer, more inclusive Gateshead, this is your opportunity to shape change.

We're using the term LGBTPhobia to include all forms of intolerance, exclusion, or discrimination towards Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Non-Binary people. This survey will help us identify areas of concern and inform the development of new, effective reporting systems that truly work for the community.

All responses are completely confidential.

The findings will be presented to the Northumbria Police Crime Commissioner and local authority leaders — real people in positions of power, listening to you.
