Road to Gilead hits Newcastle

Are you worried about the rise of the far right? Do you want to form a joyful resistance and create a better existence?
OUT North East is excited to be partnering with The Guilty Feminist, Amnesty Feminists and Live Theatre. Bringing the Road to Gilead Open Space to Newcastle, providing the region that often has been overlooked when it comes to voices regarding politics the opportunity to be heard, with many local people being worried about the changes happening around them and wanting positive change.
Named after the dystopian future of ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’,The Road to Gilead focuses on countering extremist ideology through community driven action. Organised by The Guilty Feminist Podcast will be coming to Live Theatre, Newcastle on the 5th September, 2026. The Open Space day provides people who share a common goal to come together, and ask the questions that come to mind when they think of tackling the far right. Struggling to know where to begin? You might find the person who shares your passion here.
What will it cost?
This is a non-profit day. The £15 covers LUNCH & RUNNING COSTS. If you can afford to pay more towards places for those who would struggle to afford a ticket, please do! They will appreciate it.
