Together as ONE: LGBTQ+ Awareness and Allyship Training
Building inclusive workplaces, confident teams and better services.
Creating an inclusive organisation starts with understanding. At OUT North East, our Together as ONE Training helps staff, volunteers, managers and trustees develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills to support LGBTQ+ people and create welcoming environments.
Our interactive training explores LGBTQ+ identities, histories, inequalities and effective allyship, combining real-life examples, group discussions and practical activities.
Whether you are a business, charity, school, healthcare provider or public sector organisation, Together as ONE provides accessible, engaging training that makes inclusion part of everyday practice.
We offer two training options, from a focused one-hour awareness session to a comprehensive three-hour programme.
Our training can also be tailored to your organisation's specific needs, with adapted content, examples, and scenarios relevant to your workforce, services, and sector.
Why invest in Together as ONE training?
LGBTQ+ inclusion is not just the right thing to do. It makes good organisational sense.
Investing in LGBTQ+ awareness and allyship training can bring important benefits to your organisation:
- Attract and retain talent: Create a workplace where employees and volunteers feel respected, valued and able to be themselves.
- Improve staff well-being: Help reduce exclusion, discrimination and workplace stress by building a more supportive organisational culture.
- Strengthen teamwork and productivity: Encourage confidence, collaboration and positive working relationships.
- Deliver better services: Equip staff and volunteers to communicate sensitively with LGBTQ+ customers, clients and service users.
- Reduce organisational risks: Improve understanding of equality legislation, discrimination, harassment and professional responsibilities.
- Build trust and reputation: Demonstrate a meaningful commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Develop confident allies: Give people the skills to challenge prejudice, avoid assumptions and respond appropriately to sensitive situations.
Together as ONE moves beyond awareness-raising to help organisations turn good intentions into meaningful everyday action.
